Position Overview

The Development Manager plays a hands-on role in advancing Status: Home’s fundraising efforts by supporting individual giving, donor stewardship, and campaign execution. This position offers meaningful responsibility, close collaboration with senior leadership, and the opportunity to build strong fundraising skills within a stable, mission-driven organization.

This role is well-suited for a development professional with foundational experience who is ready to grow, take ownership of projects, and contribute to scalable fundraising systems.

Key Responsibilities

Individual Giving and Stewardship

  • Manage and grow individual donors under $5,000, including retention, upgrades, acquisition, and re-engagement
  • Plan and execute bi-annual fundraising campaigns such as Year-End and Giving Tuesday
  • Prepare donor research, meeting materials, and stewardship follow-up to support major donor cultivation
  • Manage donor acknowledgments, recognition, and ongoing stewardship touchpoints
  • Support and grow donor giving societies and related engagement opportunities

Events and Campaign Execution

  • Assist with planning and execution of fundraising and stewardship events
  • Support sponsorship fulfillment, silent auctions, raffles, and corporate engagement events
  • Assist with vendor coordination, logistics, timelines, and guest experience
  • Capture and share donor engagement stories and event content

CRM and Database Management

  • Serve as primary administrator for Virtuous CRM
  • Maintain accurate donor records, segmentation, reporting, and data integrity
  • Create dashboards and reports to track donor activity and campaign performance
  • Support donor journey mapping and automated workflows

Corporate and Community Engagement

  • Jointly cultivate and steward corporate partners with internal team leads
  • Collaborate to convert volunteer groups, ERGs, and community partners into donor prospects
  • Coordinate with the Institutional Giving Manager on corporate proposals and partnerships

Communications and Storytelling

  • Draft donor-facing communications including appeals, acknowledgments, talking points, and event materials
  • Incorporate program success stories into donor communications
  • Support email, print, and digital fundraising outreach

Prospect Research

  • Conduct research on individual, corporate, and community prospects
  • Prepare donor profiles and background materials for leadership and board members
  • Support pipeline development and identification of new funding opportunities

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; degrees emphasizing writing or communications preferred
  • Three to five years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, events, or communications
  • Experience working with donors, volunteers, or community partners
  • Experience with donor CRM systems; Virtuous experience is a plus

  • Comfortable presenting to donors, volunteers, and community groups

Knowledge and Competencies

  • Understanding of donor engagement and stewardship best practices
  • Willingness to learn issues affecting individuals and families impacted by HIV/AIDS
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and dignity-centered service

Why Join Status: Home

  • Join a respected, legacy nonprofit with a clear mission and proven community impact
  • Be part of a team focused on building smart, sustainable fundraising systems — not putting out fires
  • Work closely with senior leadership in an organization that values strategy, clarity, and collaboration
  • Opportunity to grow your skills in individual giving, stewardship, and donor engagement
  • Opportunity to own and improve processes, not just maintain them
  • A values-driven workplace centered on dignity, equity, and long-term solutions

  • Alignment with Status: Home’s mission and values

Salary Range

  • $75,000 - $85,000/year
