Development Officer

General Description: ​ The Development Officer works closely with the Director, Major Gifts and Development Staff to plan, organize, and implement fundraising strategies for MUST’s individual and monthly donors. ​

Essential Responsibilities: ​

• Collaborate with development staff, volunteers, and senior leadership to plan and execute an annual MUST development plan.
• With the goal of expanding MUST’s individual donor base, plan and facilitate all aspects of the gift cycle: initiate contact, develop cultivation strategies, solicit, and maintain stewardship plans.
• Manage year-round current donor relationships, including qualification, stewardship, and cultivation activities.
• Monitor individual donor interactions across the organization to ensure positive, proper, and timely relationships. ​
• Develop programs/events to recognize monthly donors and maintain regular communication about MUST activities and needs. ​
• Update and maintain donor records in the database, including tracking in-kind donations. ​
• Regularly attend meetings in the community such as Chamber and Business Associations in Cobb County.

Essential Qualifications: ​

• BA/BS in a business-related field with 5+ years of fundraising or sales experience. ​
• Strong organizational, managerial, communication, and interpersonal skills. ​
• Proven ability to build donor relationships and secure gifts. ​
• Knowledge of Raiser's Edge preferred. ​
• Availability for evening/weekend events as needed. ​

Physical and Work Requirements:

• Work is performed in an office environment.
• May be required to lift up to 20lbs.
• Requires sufficient mobility and physical reflexes.
