Position Overview

The Director of Advancement for Philanthropy is a key member of The Atlanta Opera’s senior leadership team and a strategic partner in shaping the organization’s next era of growth. This leader oversees all philanthropic strategy and revenue generation, guiding major gifts, annual giving, campaigns, and legacy initiatives. Working collaboratively across departments—especially within our unified advancement model—the DAP strengthens donor relationships, advances the capital campaign, and supports the creation of a groundbreaking new facility that will redefine opera in Atlanta. The role leads and mentors the development team, partners closely with the General & Artistic Director and Board leadership, and plays a central role in ensuring a thriving, sustainable future for the company.
