About this role

 

The Grants Manager reports to the Grants Director. The primary responsibility for this position is generating professional, accurate and compelling grant requests, letters of inquiry and funder reports to the agency’s foundation, United Way and government funders. The Grants Manager also supports the Corporate and Community Engagement and Special Events teams as needed by completing corporate funding and special event sponsorship requests and assists with other writing needs for the agency. Works with the Grants Director to maintain the grants and reporting calendar to ensure all funders’ deadlines are met. Assists with researching and identifying new potential grant opportunities.

• A solid foundation of best practice in grant development, with a track record of fostering successful, long-term awards

• Ability to work with internal staff to determine funding needs and an understanding of how these funds will be and are being used

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Write and submit grant requests, letters of inquiry and reports to funders

• Read and interpret requests for proposals and funding guidelines

• Maintain electronic files on all current and new foundation, United Way and government funders

• Input grant submissions into Salesforce database

• Manage grants and reporting calendar; track the solicitation and progress of grants

• Draft acknowledgement letters from CEO

• Research new grant prospects

• Effective at working with others to reach common goals and objectives

• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

• Bachelor’s Degree required. Degree in English, Journalism, Public Affairs, Communications, English, Public Administration or a related field preferred

 

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in grant writing and grants management with a demonstrated success rate required

 

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, and development databases

 

• Experience with Salesforce or similar donor management software

 

OTHER INFORMATION:

This is a full-time position (approximately 40 hours/week) with flexibility for a hybrid of in-person and remote work.
