ABOUT THE ENGAGEMENT
We are engaging a strategic business development consultant to help build the commercial and funding foundation for a transformative initiative at the intersection of law and social impact. This is an initial 3-month engagement, with the potential to extend based on the work developed in the first term, focused on structuring the business model, developing seed funding materials, and supporting the Director in active investor conversations. The right candidate is a builder that can move quickly from strategy to polished deliverable and who understands how to frame mission-driven work for impact investors and funders.
DELIVERABLES
Phase 1: Months 1–2
- Business structure & model: develop a defensible business model and legal/organizational structure optimized for seed funding; map revenue streams and ROI scenarios for investors; define entity type, operating model, and funding pathway recommendations.
- Funding strategy: research and prioritize seed funding sources (e.g., impact VCs, foundations, angel investors, grants); draft a funding roadmap with target raise amount, use of funds narrative, and investor segmentation.
Phase 2: Months 2–3
- Pitch deck & materials: develop a full investor pitch deck and supporting one pager, investor-ready and tailored to the impact investor audience; revisions based on Director feedback included.
- Investor conversation support: prepare the Director for investor meetings with customized briefings, talking points, and Q&A prep; join select calls in an advisory capacity; support follow up materials and next step tracking.
