Position Overview

The Volunteer Childcare Team Member plays a vital role in Circles Cobb’s mission by providing a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children during our weekly Tuesday evening Circles meetings. By caring for children, this role allows parents to fully participate in coaching, goal-setting, and community-building—critical steps on their journey from poverty to long-term financial stability.

This is a great opportunity for individuals who love working with children, value building in our community, and want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families in Cobb County.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities during weekly Circles meetings
  • Help create a warm, safe, and inclusive environment where children feel cared for and supported
  • Work collaboratively with other childcare volunteers and staff
  • Follow all Circles Cobb child safety, protection, and supervision guidelines
  • Assist with light setup and cleanup of childcare space as needed

Time Commitment

  • Minimum commitment: Two Tuesday evenings per month
  • Schedule: Tuesdays from 5:30–9:00 pm
  • Location: In-person in Austell, GA

Dinner is provided on the evenings you volunteer.

Qualifications

  • Enjoys working with children and supporting families
  • Dependable, patient, and nurturing
  • Able to follow safety protocols and work as part of a team
  • Prior experience with children (parenting, babysitting, teaching, childcare, youth ministry, etc.) is helpful but not required

Requirements

  • Background check required
  • Mandatory child safety and protection training required (provided by Circles Cobb)
