About this role

Position Overview: A full-time employee of The Boyce L. Ansley School, the Lead Clinician and Lead School-Based therapist will be on-site at The Boyce L. Ansley School full-time to lead therapeutic and clinical services, administer therapy, provide clinical supervision, trauma education, support, and clinical case management to Ansley School scholars and their families. This role works closely in conjunction with the Director of Social Services and other school leaders.

Routine Tasks:

  • Provide individual and group therapy for scholars and families of The Boyce L. Ansley School.
  • Conduct intake (biopsychosocial) assessments for students/caregivers enrolling in therapy.
  • Maintain therapeutic notes and files in accordance with HIPAA and school standards.
  • Triage student needs (i.e., crisis concerns, medical evaluations, outside referrals, behavior support, academic evaluations and supports, etc.)
  • Provide crisis intervention to students as needed (i.e., suicide/homicide evaluations, de-escalation, mandated reporting)
  • Communicate and collaborate with teachers and other staff members to implement concrete plans for scholars based on diagnosis or observed behaviors.

Lead Tasks:

  • Work closely in conjunction/collaboration with the Director of Social Services and other school leaders to provide departmental and school-wide support in:
  • Implementing policies and practices related to social services, therapy, crisis management, and mandated reporting
  • Implementing/planning caregiver policies, practices, and regular education/workshops, and supportive services
  • Liaising with community providers to coordinate services and supports for students
  • Building and maintaining community partnerships
  • Provide clinical supervision and support to interns, social workers, and paraprofessionals
  • Provide trauma-informed staff training regularly and as-needed on topics such as: mandated reporting, crisis management, diagnoses, child development, de-escalation techniques, staff wellness, and behavior management
  • Completing grant applications as appropriate
  • Collect and use data to evaluate interventions and adjust care, ensuring client-centered, evidence-based outcomes via interdisciplinary collaboration.

Required Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in the field of social work, counseling, and/or marriage and family therapy, and licensed at the fully independent, clinical level (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) required. Doctoral-level candidates (PhD/PsyD/DSW, etc.) with experience in therapy are encouraged to apply as well.
  • Trauma-informed therapist with experience and specialization in working with marginalized and underserved populations.
  • Skilled in providing trauma-informed individual, family, and group therapy.
  • Experience working and collaborating with other helping professionals (i.e., teachers, nurses, Psychologists, NPs, doctors, OT/PT/SLP, etc.)
  • Experience providing clinical supervision to other clinicians.
  • Experience providing training to staff and/or caregivers in trauma-informed practices, mandated reporting, child development, and/or therapeutic interventions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Ability to recognize when assistance and consultation are needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification/registration in a trauma-informed and evidence-based child treatment model, i.e., TF-CBT, Play Therapy (RPT), DBT, EMDR, etc.
  • Ability to supervise other clinicians (i.e., 3 years post full licensure and/or CPCS)
  • Non-profit and/or community mental health leadership experience.
  • Experience in a school setting.
  • Experience creating and implementing organizational policies and practices.
  • Bilingual (Spanish)
