About this role

The Adult Services Coordinator facilitates the implementation of all adult vocational, non-vocational, and social programs at the Playhouse. This role includes directly supporting individuals participating in GiGi University, GiGi Professional, and adult social programs, as well as individuals seeking jobs, volunteer opportunities, and community-based placements. Leveraging the career program philosophy of “Confident U. Healthy U. Whole U.”, the Adult Services Coordinator ensures these programs operate effectively while intentionally fostering social connection, independence, and overall well-being.

Effective program operation includes ensuring programs are properly staffed with skilled and trained volunteers; delivered using structured, outcome-driven curricula; and aligned with the program models developed by the National Program Team. The Adult Services Coordinator also engages with community partners to increase acceptance, social inclusion, meaningful opportunities, and career success for adults with Down syndrome. A flexible schedule is required.

Goals of this role include:

  • Assess priorities of the needs of our adults
  • Continually increase the number of families served in GiGi Prep, GiGi University, and GiGi Professional for each session.
  • Maximize measurable achievements and progressions through GiGi Prep and GiGi University as measured by participant progress trackers and assessments.
  • Maximize progressions on the career certifications for individuals in GiGi Professional by supporting participants’ development of skills and abilities.
  • Showcase the skills and abilities of our adult participants in the community.
  • Maximize opportunities for adults with Down syndrome to obtain and retain jobs and volunteer placements in the community by creating partnerships with local businesses.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be very comfortable using a broad array of programs, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and OneNote).  Ability to work proficiently in (or quickly learn) a database program (Salesforce) to manage interactions and transactions.
