About L.E.A.D.
L.E.A.D. is on a mission to empower Atlanta’s youth to overcome crime, poverty, and racism through the sports of baseball and tennis. Our model focuses on launching student-athletes toward educational opportunities, exposing them to enrichment experiences, advising families on post-secondary pathways, and directing youth using historical inspiration.
Engagement Overview
L.E.A.D. seeks an Independent Contractor – Program Coordinator to support the coordination and execution of its youth programming, including Rookie League, Jr. Ambassador, and Ambassador programs.
This is a contract-based engagement focused on delivering high-quality program operations, logistics, and stakeholder coordination. The contractor will work collaboratively with L.E.A.D. leadership while maintaining independence in how services are performed.
Scope of Services
The contractor will provide the following services:
Program Operations & Logistics
- Coordinate program logistics relative to facilities, equipment/inventory, and transportation.
- Support execution of practices, weekend programming, and special events as needed
Program Delivery Support
- Collaborate with program leadership to ensure quality program execution and positive youth outcomes
- Assist in maintaining consistency and structure across program activities
- Provide on-site or virtual support during key program activities as agreed upon
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with student-athletes, families, school partners, and community stakeholders
- Serve as a professional representative of L.E.A.D. in program interactions
Program Tracking & Reporting
- Support data collection related to program participation, outcomes, and performance
- Utilize tools (e.g., Excel, cloud-based systems) to track metrics
Deliverables
Deliverables may include (but are not limited to):
- Program schedules and logistics plans
- Attendance and performance tracking reports
- Event execution plans and summaries
- Project updates and status reports
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Experience working with youth, preferably in sports-based or nonprofit programming
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse communities and advocate for inner-city youth
- Experience with sports, preferably baseball or tennis
- Experience with program evaluation, tracking outcomes, or reporting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Excel and willingness to learn program tracking tools
Working Relationship
- This is an independent contractor engagement, not an employment relationship
- The contractor will determine their own work methods and schedule, within agreed-upon program timelines and deliverables
- Compensation, timeline, and specific deliverables will be outlined in a separate contractor agreement
