Position Summary
The Programs and Development Coordinator is a new role designed to support the CEO in individual donor development, corporate partnership cultivation, volunteer coordination, and program management (hospital grants, cancer summit). This position fills critical gaps in our organizational structure by managing non-event fundraising activities, coordinating core programs, and building volunteer and committee infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, proactive professional with a passion for our mission and experience in both development and program coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Program Coordination
- Coordinate the Foundation’s hospital grants program, including application management and reporting.
- Plan and execute the annual cancer summit, managing logistics, speakers, and attendees.
- Track program outcomes and prepare impact reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain relationships with our funded research institutions and program partners.
Individual Donor Development & Stewardship
- Support the CEO in cultivating and stewarding individual donors and corporate partners.
- Coordinate annual giving campaigns, direct mail appeals, and other non-event fundraising initiatives.
- Manage personalized donor outreach and prepare compelling donor communications.
- Prepare timely donor acknowledgment letters and maintain accurate records in Salesforce.
Corporate & Foundation Partnership Development
- Identify and research corporate partnership opportunities beyond event sponsorships.
- Support the CEO in cultivating corporate and foundation relationships.
- Prepare partnership proposals and presentations.
- Manage corporate partner stewardship, communications, and reporting.
Volunteer & Committee Management
- Assist the CEO with trustee and board support, including meeting preparation and communications.
- Recruit, coordinate, and support fundraising committees and other volunteers.
- Develop volunteer engagement materials and manage volunteer recognition programs.
- Maintain volunteer and committee records and track engagement in Salesforce.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Communications, etc.).
- 3+ years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or program coordination.
- Demonstrated success in individual donor cultivation, stewardship, and corporate partnership development.
- Experience with donor database management (Salesforce preferred) and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling narratives.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
