Part Time Community Engagement Manager 

Callanwolde is a community arts center and renowned venue located on a historic 12-acre estate in the heart of metro Atlanta. Our mission is to provide the Atlanta community with premier, accessible arts education, especially to the underserved, while promoting enjoyment of the arts at the historic and inspiring Callanwolde estate.

The Community Engagement Manager supports the activities of all community engagement programs by providing overall support to the Director of Arts Programming, anticipating, and addressing logistical activities related, but not limited to, community engagement programs, budgets, reports, and departmental visitors. The position collaborates across the organization to complete these and other tasks related to the administrative functions of the department.

 

Position Description: 

The Part Time Community Engagement Manager

 

• Acts as a primary liaison for community partners and schools. 

• Takes responsibility for scheduling groups for engagement opportunities. 

• Supports areas of growth for community engagement partnerships, which may include veterans' organizations, senior centers, previously unhoused families, ESL students, Title I public schools, and other sensitive groups. 

• Captures and reports program data on a regular schedule to include attendance, demographic, testimonials, social media content, and other data. 

• Travels to local schools and other community partner organizations on Callanwolde’s Behalf. 

• Builds relationships in the community, both internal and external, to support Callanwolde’s community engagement initiatives. 

• Assists instructors in the implementation of standard-aligned curriculum. 

• Purchases, organizes, and distributes student and instructor supplies as needed. 

• Provides logistical and programmatic support for departmental activities as needed. 

• Performs general administrative tasks including but not limited to working with staff, instructors, and students to answer questions, help resolve issues, and process registrations and refunds. 

• Works with Programming, Development, Marketing, Rentals and other departments as needed with event planning and coordination of classes and other Program activities. 

• As needed, responds to emails and phone calls regarding programs and/or coordinating with appropriate staff for further review and response. 

• Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Conditions: 

• The position is part-time, with an average of 20 hours per week.

• This position is classified as non-exempt, and paid on an hourly, part time basis.

• The Community Engagement Manager reports to the Director of Arts Programming and is a member of the Programs Team.

• The Community Engagement Manager is expected to use discretion and independent judgment in carrying out his/her responsibilities and to represent the organization in a professional, knowledgeable and collegial manner at all times.

• The Community Engagement Manager must demonstrate cultural competency in working and communicating with groups and individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

• This position is subject to a criminal background check. 

 

Qualifications:

Education and Experience 

• High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred.

• Minimum of two years of work experience in  arts education, including classroom teaching, administrative roles and community nonprofit experience.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

• Possesses a driver’s license and reliable transportation. This position requires some travel in metro-Atlanta area.

• Ability to work independently, efficiently, and accurately with little supervision.

• Exhibits exceptional organizational and communication skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple colleagues, simultaneously, as part of a team.

• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook (email/scheduling) and similar programs.
